Kyle understands the specific struggles of learning Mandarin as a native English speaker and was able to help me push through the fear of making mistakes while speaking. Before beginning my lessons with Kyle, I worried so much about tones and pronunciation that I hesitated each time I spoke. Kyle’s attitude and humor made me very comfortable speaking, and I produce more accurate tones and pronounce words better now that I’ve been able to engage in authentic communication. He was always prepared with lessons based on topics I was interested in and was happy to suggest topics when I couldn’t think of any that week.
